HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SEBASTIAN!!!!
all the best!...

So, today (not quite today, here's thursday still!) July 3rd is an special day, because someone we really really like was born 22 years ago... And in such a small period of time, Sebastian achieved so much more than many of us could ever expect someone to. It seems it was yesterday most of us first saw him, and even though we expected him to shine, we didn't expect it'd come this quick and he'd shine this much. Two years in Formula One, and Sebastian Vettel already took three winner trophies home, being third (sorry Rubens, I even forgot you this morning!) in the championship!

We can't tell him personally a 'happy birthday' today, but we are sure he feels somewhat hugged by each of his fans, because during the last seasons you've been showing support everywhere and in the most different ways. We wish him all the best, for the many years to come, and obviously for his further races. Maybe, just maybe, he gets a big surprise in the end of this championship, hm?

A happy birthday to you Seb, and thank you for all the great moments you gave us. We'll keep on supporting you and thanking you in your every upcoming birthday! This fansite would've never been here for anyone else than you.

All the best,
Kati and all S-V.ORG team.

07.02: Bernie keen to see Seb in a Ferrari
according to rumours...
Earlier this week, perhaps because Formula One is in a rare news trough, a report in the newspaper Diario AS caused an international stir.

The Spanish publication named September 11 2009 as the date on which Fernando Alonso will – perhaps - be unveiled as a Ferrari driver for the next five years.

But also in the report was the suggestion that the Italian team may be planning a wholesale change, with Sebastian Vettel also in its sights.

The Vettel element of the story was picked up by Germany's major daily Bild, adding that Bernie Ecclestone is also keen to see the 21-year-old in a red car but that it might not happen for contractual reasons until 2011.

Red Bull's Christian Horner said: "Bernie is sort of like Sebastian's secret manager. He likes him very much and watches out for him.

"But why would Sebastian want to leave us? At the moment we're at the front and Ferrari are not," the team boss added.

07.01: Sebastian looking forward to his home race!
in Nürburgring...
After Jenson Button at Silverstone last month, next weekend it will be Sebastian Vettel's turn to face his home Grand Prix.

"I have many beautiful memories of the Nurburgring," the Red Bull driver said in an interview with Motorsport Aktuell. "I have driven go-karts there, as well as many races in Formula BMW, Formula 3 and also the Renault World Series."

"It is a special place: you need to pack a thick jacket even in the middle of summer!"

He will arrive in the mountainous Eifel region next week as the dominant winner of the most recent British Grand Prix, but believes his home crowd will give him an extra boost.

"I would say it is similar to football when you have a home game - you always give 100 percent but the motivation is even higher," said Vettel, whose most formative racing days were spent not far away at Michael Schumacher's Kerpen kart track.

06.29: "No number one driver at RBR"
says Christian Horner...
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says he has no intention of imposing team orders or selecting either Sebastian Vettel or Mark Webber as a number one driver.

"There's no number one driver," he said. "Updates are being introduced to the cars equally at every race, and that's the way it will continue for the rest of the season."

"They're both professional drivers, they're both at different stages in their career, but they work for a strong team," Christian Horner said.

"Obviously there is a competitive rivalry, but it's a professional rivalry between the two of them. I think it's a very, very strong driver line-up. Both drivers are driving fantastically well and they're bringing the best out of each other. Seeing them trade times through Q1 and Q2, through practice at Silverstone, they're two guys that are on top of their game at the moment. They are both really performing at a fantastic level at the moment and doing a brilliant job."

[RACE] Some comments about Seb's win
from other drivers and team managers...
Some Formula One related people commented on Sunday's win, so let's check a bit of what was said about Silverstone and Sebastian:

Norbert Haug, McLaren: “Congratulations to our German friend Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull Racing and Mark Webber for a very impressive performance and a clearly very dominant one-two. This was the most impressive performance of the season so far.”

Franz Tost, STR: “First of all, well done to Red Bull for a fantastic job, especially the drivers, Vettel showing incredible pace in the early stages, with he and Webber easily controlling the race."

Niki Lauda, Formula One WDC: “Nobody could hold a candle to him this weekend. He didn't make a single error. You simply can't drive better than this – just perfect. If things carry on like this, we may have witnessed a turning-point in the title race, because the superiority of the modified Red Bull was incredible.”

Alex Wurz, former F1 Driver: “A super weekend – there was no catching him. Red Bull have shown just how fast they can go."

Mark Webber, RBR: “I don’t think I could have done much more today and congratulations to Sebastian, he did a good first stint, which is what laid the foundations for his win."
