[QLF] Sebastian keeps a win in mind for tomorrow
he says during press conference...
Sebastian Vettel, with only 21 years old, had an awesome saturday in Sakhir. After topping the qualifying sheets in both Q1 and Q2, he was only surpassed by the Toyotas of Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock on Q3. Even though he may have lost the pole position, he warns the other drivers during the press conference, "That was a great qualifying. Was an awesome result for me. Everyone ws just so close. We couldn't reach the pole position but everything went just fine. I'm sure I'm goin to this race with a win in mind." However, Sebastian's not illuded by his optimism. Even though his car shows a great pace, he knows it won't be easy to surpass the Toyotas, "We've got a great car, we're working fine. On Q2 we could go real quick but on Q3 they were just a bit too quick. Will be difficult to surpass that, but I trust we'll have an awesome race," he said. Source: GloboEsporte

[QLF] Sebastian says Toyotas may run lighter
"they were just a bit too quick," he says...
Sebastian Vettel said he had no chance of beating the Toyotas to pole at Sakhir, but suspects Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock are running lighter fuel loads than him. "In Q3 I think the two Toyotas were just a bit too quick, I think," said Vettel. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow though, I reckon they'll pull in a bit earlier." Source: ITV

[FPs] "I think everyone was surprised how hot it is"
red bull racing fp notes...
Sebastian Vettel:1st Practice P12 , 2nd Practice P4 "So, obviously it's back to normal now. Last weekend was fantastic, but we have to carry on as there's a lot of work to do! So, our minds are now set to focus on Bahrain. It was a normal Friday, we were more or less able to do our full programme and had no issues with the car. Performance wise, it's difficult to comment, but the car feels alright. We were struggling to find a good balance this morning, but it was better this afternoon. Now we have to look at the data and try to improve for tomorrow. I think everyone was surprised how hot it is when you leave the pits in the car, it's like someone's blowing a heat gun in your face. It's better with the visor closed than open, otherwise you just get more hot air blowing at you."

04.24: "Bernie declared himself Seb's unnofficial manager"
says christian horner...
Sebastian Vettel has the world's most powerful man in motor sport keeping a personal eye on his career as the young German continues to set F1 alight. Bernie Ecclestone has become what Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner jokingly describes as Vettel's "unofficial manager". Ecclestone made it his mission before the grand prix to contact Horner, and then after it to speak to Vettel - although it was a call he almost did not take. "Yeah, he called me and he passed on his congratulations. That was very kind and I was very surprised," said Vettel. "I had someone calling with private number, and I wasn't very keen to pick up the phone, but I did and it was Bernie, so I was very happy. He said I did a very good job. He was joking quite a lot on the phone, which I wasn't prepared for, so he got me on that one." Smiling at the time, Vettel refused to divulge the nature of the jokes, but it is apparent he has become an Ecclestone favourite. "Bernie has declared himself as Sebastian's unofficial manager," confirmed Horner. "I think he's got a lot of affection for him because he called me after qualifying (in China) and said 'make sure you do a good job for my lad tomorrow'. He's delighted for Sebastian and the team."
