04.17: Horner defends Seb in press conference
from a norbert haug 'attack'...
PitPass website commented something was said on yesterday's press conference, attended either by Christian Horner and Norbert Haug. Here goes the clip: "We particularly enjoyed it when Horner was asked about Sebastian Vettel's performance so far this year. "He's been very, very impressive for somebody of such a young age," said the Englishman. "He was desperately unlucky in Melbourne, he continued, referring to the German's clash with Robert Kubica in the final stages of the race, when Haug cut in with; "he decided to be unlucky!" "But thankfully he told the truth..." chipped in Horner." Source: Pitpass

[FPs] Red Bull Team Notes
"the car ran faultlessly," says seb...
Sebastian Vettel - 5th: "We did the normal tyre comparisons today, which are important ahead of Sunday as they might be quite a challenge here. The guys did a great job and the car ran faultlessly, which is always a benefit on a Friday. We've dried out from Malaysia and, instead, we had perfect driving conditions today, so we'll see how we go tomorrow. I enjoyed it out there." Source: Autosport

along with lewis hamilton...
2008 world champion Lewis Hamilton has been nominated for the World Sportsman of the Year award at this year's Laureus World Sports Awards, having clinched his record-breaking debut crown in dramatic fashion at the end of 2008, becoming the sport's youngest champion. The sport's youngest Grand Prix winner Sebastian Vettel has also received a nomination, and will be in with a shout of landing World Breakthrough of the Year after his historic win in Monza last year. 2009 marks the 10th year of the Laureus awards, with names such as Michael Schumacher, Juan Pablo Montoya, Renault and Lewis Hamilton having been honoured in the past. 04.11: 'Seb's actions worst than McLaren's'
says sir jackie steward...
Sir Jackie Stewart believes that if anyone needs to be called before the World Motor Sport Council for their Aussie GP incidents it's Seb Vettel and not McLaren. "In my opinion, what Vettel did in Melbourne was potentially more serious than what McLaren have been accused of, because that wheel could have flown into the crowd and killed somebody. Yet he was only penalised 10 places on the grid at the next race, which is no more than a strong slap on the wrist." Source: Planet F1

[RACE] "I lost the car due to aquaplaning"
says Sebastian after race...
“Not so much to tell. I was on the intermediate tyres and they were pretty gone as it wasn’t very wet before the sudden pour down. I was approaching Turn seven and there was suddenly lots of water, but I was being very cautious. I lost the car due to aquaplaning and there was nothing I could do. There was too much water and my tyres were not made for those conditions. A spin wouldn’t have been much of a problem, but the anti-stall didn’t work. Without that, I would just have spun, lost some time and that would have been it. In the past drivers had three pedals, a throttle, a brake and a clutch and when you were spinning you knew exactly what to do. It’s not in our hands anymore, so it’s a shame that we have to retire for this stupid reason.”
