[INTERVIEW] "We have to be even more focused"
says Sebastian to formula1.com...
Sebastian gave a new interview to Formula1.com, talking about the upcoming season and Mark Webber's accident. Check a bit of the talk: Q: Sebastian, Mark’s broken leg will have an impact on the team’s winter preparation. Obviously the major test work will now rest on your shoulders. Could that be an advantage to you, as you will be able to mould the car to your liking? Sebastian Vettel: What happened to Mark was a shame and I hope he gets well soon. I didn’t have the chance to talk to him yet. We will proceed as usual with testing and for sure he will be missed but it is more important that he is back next year to get the new car running. We have to be even more focused down in Jerez at our next test and can’t afford to make any mistakes, as time is valuable. [TESTS / Day 03] "It was good to be back"
red bull racing test notes...
On the final day of this three day test, Sebastian Vettel once again set the fastest time of the day, working on a programme centred on evaluation of the Bridgestone slick tyres to be used in 2009. The car ran throughout with the levels of downforce that can be expected next year. "It was good to be back in a race car again, for the first time since Brazil," said Sebastian Vettel. "Running the 2009 slick tyres was very interesting and very different to what Formula 1 has been used to for the past few years. It was also a useful couple of days for me from the point of view of getting to know the engineers and the rest of the team. It is important to develop a common understanding between us and winter testing is the ideal opportunity to do just that." The Jerez test runs from 9th to 11th December. Source: RBR

[TEST / Day 02] Day's summary
in the second day of Barcelona's tests...
Sebastian Vettel began life as a Red Bull Racing driver in the perfect manner after topping the times on the second day of testing at Barcelona. The German driver led a quartet of Red Bull cars, as Takuma Sato was the fastest of the three Toro Rossos that finished behind Vettel. The Red Bull Racing driver was the only man capable of lapping the Spanish track in less than 80 seconds, posting a best time of 1:19.751 to outpace Sato, quickest yesterday, by nearly four tenths. Sebastien Bourdais and Sebastien Buemi proved the battle for the 2009 Toro Rosso seats is a tight one, finishing right behind Sato.
