[RACE] Pitstop problem costs Vettel points
he finished 9th just outside the points...
Sebastien Vettel blamed the loss of another potential points finish on a botched pitstop in the Chinese Grand Prix.

The Italian GP winner had been running seventh in the opening stint when a sticking left front wheel in his first pitstop cost him vital track position, dropping him to an eventual ninth at the finish.

"I had a reasonably good start, but then I was surprised by Nick (Heidfeld) going down the outside and he passed a few cars," Vettel said of his race. "After that I had to defend my position against Robert (Kubica) on the opening lap.

"Then, I had quite a clean first stint. But in the first pit stop we had a problem with the front left wheel which wouldn't come off. I think that cost me a position in the points.

"P9 is not bad but it's the most frustrating place, just outside the points."

There was further frustration for Scuderia Toro Rosso, who saw both their cars start the race in points positions, when Sebastien Bourdais collided with Jarno Trulli at the first corner.

Team principal Franz Tost summed up by adding: "If you start from sixth and eighth and don't score points then something must have gone wrong."

[QLF] "It's better than we expected"
said Sebastian after qualifing session...
"A difficult day yesterday and also this morning. But before qualifying we made a few changes that helped us. We can be very happy with this result, I don't think I could have done better and it's better than we expected. Tomorrow in the race, I think it will be hard to catch the guys in front, so I will run my own race, do the best I can and if we can bring the car home, then we will see what we have achieved."

[FPs] "We are not where we want to be"
said Vettel after two practice session...
"We are not where we want to be, although the time sheet makes it look worse than it is. The circuit is in quite good shape and there is some graining on the tyres, but in terms of the car set-up we still have work to do to get the balance of the car right. We will have to take a good look at the data to see how to improve tomorrow. There's a bit of work to do, but that's our job!"
