09.26: Seb talks about win and going RBR
in a small interview to autosport...
Sebastian Vettel says his life has not changed at all since becoming Formula One's youngest winner at the Italian Grand Prix.

"It is the same as before. Nothing has changed," said Vettel ahead of this weekend's race in Singapore. "Obviously it was a very good result and unfortunately we have not had the time yet to celebrate. That will come after the season. Now we have to refocus for this race."

He added: "Obviously the emotions are fantastic. When I think back and remember the pictures of there, or seeing photographs, I think it was a very special experience. And at Monza it was very special - to listen to the Italian national anthem for the team in Monza, it is hard to beat that kind of feeling. But life goes on. I don't see any reason to lose ground or change myself."

When asked about the possibility of another podium or win, he said: "It is difficult. I would say in a normal race in normal conditions it is not possible. Obviously you have two very strong teams and that makes four cars already, so if they don't mess it up then there is not much left. For another podium finish we need special conditions, or some happenings in the front from which we can benefit."

Toro Rosso's upturn in performance came after Vettel had already signed up to switch to Red Bull Racing for 2009. And although insisting he has no regrets about the decision to move on, he confesses to having mixed emotions about leaving Toro Rosso behind.

"In Germany we have a saying: 'there is one eye laughing and one eye crying.'" he explained. "I don't know if you have this kind of thing in English.

"But for sure, you are looking forward to your new adventure there, but on the other hand you are also quite sad. Not crying, but you don't want to leave. I think that is normal. As soon as you leave an environment where you have felt very much home or comfortable, you don't want to leave. On the other hand I am looking forward to going there."

09.26: Winner Vettel aims for points
in Singapore's race...
Monza winner Sebastian Vettel has warned the world not to necessarily expect him to return to the winner's rostrum in Singapore.
The 21-year-old German won the weather-affected Italian grand prix from pole position, drawing widespread praise for both his efforts and those of his midfield team Toro Rosso.
But he said in Singapore: "If we go into the points here, that would be a success.
"The midfield is so close that two or three tenths makes a huge difference. Perhaps twelfth place here would be a good result for us," Vettel added.

09.26: Vettel denies Red Bull move a backward step
RBR is the right move...
oro Rosso driver Sebastian Vettel has denied that his move to sister team Red Bull Racing next season is a backward step after making his breakthrough at the Italian Grand Prix this month.
The 21-year-old became the youngest driver ever to win a race at the elite level when he charged over the finish line first at Monza.
He is moving to Red Bull next season to replace the retiring David Coulthard, despite the team falling off the pace over the past few months as Toro Rosso has prospered.
But Poland´s Vettel, touted as a potential future world champion, insisted he had no regrets.
"No, not at all. I am still convinced that it is the right way to go for next year," he told the official www.Formula1.com.
"Obviously there is a lot to do. I believe it would be unfair to say that they are worse than Toro Rosso at the moment.
"The Toro Rosso situation I can judge very well. We have been working very hard so we deserved the Monza result and I think that Red Bull in the last couple of races did not always use their package one hundred percent."
Vettel tested Red Bull´s RB4 car in Jerez last week, to get a feel for it and to give his feedback on how it might be improved.
"Obviously the car is pretty similar, so I think the main difference is the crew, the people," he said.
"That was also the reason for me testing the RB4 - to get my first taste of working with the people there, with the engineers, and to get a feeling for the team, because in the end that is much more important than really driving the car.
"I am very confident for next year and I don´t believe that it is a step back."

09.24: Lauda says Seb could still stay at STR
to german press...
Despite Sebastian Vettel insisting that he has no regrets about having signed to compete with Red Bull Racing next season, Niki Lauda has suggested that the German – Formula 1's newest race-winner following his superb Monza triumph just under two weeks ago – may yet remain at Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2009.

“Vettel should do a comparison test in the winter with the Toro Rosso and the Red Bull and decide then,” the 59-year-old Austrian told Sport Bild.

“Mateschitz is a logically-thinking guy. He wants to have success with his brand, so if he sees that it would be best to leave Vettel with Toro Rosso, I am sure he would do that.”
