[RUMOUR] Seb may replace Coulthard for Monza
...And once again changing team in middle of season
Retiring Grand Prix veteran David Coulthard may relinquish his seat at Red Bull Racing before the end of the 2008 season, according to the latest whisper in Formula One circles The rumour coincides with Red Bull junior team Toro Rosso's confirmation on Tuesday that Sebastien Buemi and Takuma Sato will be tested later this month in view of replacing Sebastian Vettel in 2009. In a statement, Toro Rosso said the pair will get a day each at the wheel of the STR3 at Jerez following the Italian Grand Prix because the team is 'turning its thoughts to its 2009 driver line-up'. 'The time has come to try and find a suitable replacement for Vettel,'; Toro Rosso principal Franz Tost said. According to the Coulthard rumour, the 37-year-old Scot would hand over to Vettel after Monza, thereby creating an early vacancy alongside Sebastien Bourdais at Toro Rosso. The Ferrari powered team would then be free to trial teenager Buemi, Super Aguri refugee Sato, or any other 2009 candidates, perhaps Bruno Senna, at the final four races of the season. In terms of the current constructors' championship, however, the rumour makes little sense. Scuderia Toro Rosso's Vettel was the star of the recent Valencia race, collecting three points for sixth place, but the team sits just ninth out of the ten teams, three and six points respectively behind Honda and Williams. 08.29: "It is really a pity to lose him"
says Bergher on an interview...
Gerhard Bergher spoke to F1.com n a interview and mentioned obviously Sebastian. Check the clip from the interview: Q: Gerhard, Sebastian Vettel has become the team’s leading light, in terms of results and media interest. How difficult is it for you to let him go? Gerhard Berger: Well, of course the media interest is important, but what is more important is the performance of the team - Sebastian has helped us a lot to get the right atmosphere back. We had been really struggling with Scott Speed and Tonio Liuzzi last year, but he has proved what the team is able to do and has done it in a very nice way, with us, with the engineers, with everybody. That has pushed us such an immense step forward - it is really a pity to lose him. There is not a single soul in the team that is not sad to see him go at the end of the season. On the other hand we get so much from Red Bull. Without Red Bull, Toro Rosso would be nowhere, so it feels good that we can give something back, even if I would like to have him stay with the team.

[TESTS] Seb tests tomorrow as well
toro rosso test notes...
Driver: Sebastian Vettel Chassis: STR3-02 Best time: 1:23.691 99 laps Pos. 4th Just three days after a strong points scoring, double top ten finish in Valencia, Scuderia Toro Rosso was back on track for the first of three days of testing at Monza, which hosts the Italian Grand Prix on 14 September. The STR3 ran with the low aerodynamic downforce configuration required at this high speed track and Vettel also evaluated a new front suspension and some aero components not specifically aimed at Monza. Running on just one type of Bridgestone tyre all day, the car ran trouble free, completing a higher mileage than planned, including a long run, equivalent to over half a race distance, with Seb’s quickest lap posted towards the end of this run. Tomorrow, German Seb runs in the morning, with French Seb taking over at the wheel for the remaining day and a half of this test.

[RACE] "Incredible! A perfect day."
toro rosso race notes...
Sebastian Vettel (6th): "Incredible! A perfect day.It was fun but tough and hot out there. It's a nice race track. My start was not so good on the dirty side and going into Turn 1 I was right on the limit and very close to Kimi and could defend my position against Jarno for the first stint, but he had a bit more fuel on board and stayed out an extra lap and he overtook me in the pits. But we can be very very happy with this result. We made no mistakes, no mistakes all weekend and maximised our performance. The whole team can be very proud of what it has achieved and hopefully, for the next races we can be in the top ten again."
