[QLF] 'A shame to miss out on Q3'
says sebastian about his great qualifying...
Even though Sebastian Vettel has qualified himself in eleventh position for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix the Toro Rosso driver would have hoped to make it into Q3. His team mate Sebastien Bourdais struggled on the extreme soft Bridgestone tyres and had to settle for P14 (*).

Vettel said on his qualifying performance: "A shame to miss out on Q3 by one hundredth, but we expected it to be tight. We can be happy though, especially given I only managed nine laps yesterday. It means we did a good job today. Now we can do what we like in terms of fuel load for the race and hopefully find a good strategy. I've yet to do a long run this weekend but I think we can find a good compromise between qualifying and race pace and we have a good set-up on the car."

++ Edit. Bourdais has been penalized on 5p for blocking Heidfeld.

08.01: 'I had problems on both sessions'
str team notes for friday...
Sebastian Vettel (STR3-03): "I had hydraulic problems in both sessions. A shame because I lost a lot of track time and Friday's work is very important. I hardly ran at all and therefore we are lacking information which will be a handicap for the rest of the weekend. Obviously, this means the data from the other car will be twice as important as usual. I will try and learn from Sebastien, but relying on your team-mate is never as good as finding your own way around the track. Hopefully I can catch up a bit tomorrow morning."

First Practice Session

08.01: Hydraulic problems for Vettel
in the first free practice...
A hydraulic problem sidelined Sebastian Vettel's Toro Rosso during the morning practice session in Hungary on Friday.

After just four laps of the twisty 4.4km Hungaroring circuit near Budapest, the German driver ground to a halt and finished the 90 minute session slowest of the twenty cars in action.

"It was a problem with the hydraulics. It's not the end of the world," Vettel, 21, confirmed to reporters at the track.

07.28: Two years in RBR for Sebastian
before he can move to another team...
Sebastian Vettel could be ready to move on again after two years of racing with Red Bull beginning in 2009, according to his current team boss.

Toro Rosso co-owner Gerhard Berger, who is set to lose the highly rated 21-year-old German to the senior team at the end of this year, has suggested to the tabloid newspaper 'tz' that Vettel has penned a two-year deal with the outfit run by Christian Horner.

Horner confirmed on Monday that Vettel is n a "long term" contract with the popular energy drink company, but it is also well-known that BMW has some sort of option to bring the team's former test driver back to Hinwil in the future.

And Berger says: "In 2011 Sebastian Vettel will be interesting not only for BMW, but also for Mercedes and Ferrari."
