It was a case of half a day each in the cockpit for both Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais in testing ahead of the German Grand Prix.
Bourdais carried on with Toro Rosso where he left off on Tuesday, before Vettel took over in the afternoon. Both men had similar programmes, centred on general set-up work, car balance and tyre comparison.
Bourdais’ cockpit time was reduced after he went off the track at turn 12, which meant the car spent some time in the garage being repaired and he did not complete a full tyre comparison.
However, Vettel did get all the data necessary when it was his turn and he continues driving tomorrow for the last day of this pre-German Grand Prix session.
Vettel set the sixth fastest time of the 12 on track with a best lap of 1:15.955s, while Bourdais was slowest on the day with a best of 1:16.550s.

07.09: DC says Seb perfect for RBR seat
in a recent interview...
David Coulthard believes Sebastien Vettel should take over his seat at Red Bull when he calls it a day at the end of the season. Coulthard announced last week that he is retiring from Formula One after 15 years in the sport.
Vettel is currently driving for Toro Rosso, and Coulthard is tipping the German to partner Mark Webber, who has signed an extension to his contract, at Red Bull next season.
"For me Sebastian Vettel has everything that a future winner in Formula One needs," Coulthard told the official Formula One website. "Also his maturity and approach shows that he is the best man for the job. So I am very confident that he would be able to do a very good job for Red Bull Racing."

[RACE] 'I got hit on the rear left...'
'... and it spun me around,' says sebi...
Sebastian Vettel (STR3-03)Retired"Massa spun going into Bridge which caused a lot of confusion and meant the cars were all running very close. Then in Turn 14, I got hit on the rear left and it spun me around. I tried to save it, but I got stuck in the
gravel. I thought there might have been a chance of being pushed out, but when I got out of the cockpit I saw the gravel was much too deep."

[RACE] DC takes blame for incident
that costed sebastian's race...
David Coulthard apologised to his Red Bull team after failing to complete a lap on his final home grand prix on Sunday.
The Scot, who on Thursday announced his retirement from Formula One at the end of the season, made contact with Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel during the first lap on the wet track. Both cars spun into the gravel and were forced to retire. Coulthard took the blame for the accident, and apologised for the error.
"I'm extremely disappointed and sorry for the team," Coulthard told BBC radio. I've taken out two Red Bull cars so that's obviously the worst case scenario... you have to take your opportunities when they come in a race like this and I thought I saw a gap. Unfortunately it turned out it was a bad decision."
