[FPs] "We look better here"
says a quick Sebastian after Friday practices...
Sebastian Vettel - 5th/1st: “We can see from the times that the track is a little bit slower here than it was last year, which is a shame because some of the faster corners are now not so quick, but overall the character has remained the same. It’s a challenging track – quite stop and go – you don’t experience as much G-force here as on other circuits, but there are a lot of bumps, which don’t make your life easy, but I like the circuit a lot. Overall, it was a good day for us and we look better here than we did in Monza.”

Seb becomes Casio ambassator, gets own inspired watch
More about the SV inspired watch, and where to find it...
To celebrate Sebastian Vettel’s success, Casio has created an exclusive new motorsport inspired EDIFICE watch with the release of the EDIFICE EQW-M1000-SV-1AER. It combines a sporty image with the sophistication of an elegant chronograph. The watch face is encased in solid steel with Vettel’s signature and dynamic logos engraved on the casing base. The watch takes its inspiration from the Red Bull F1 team - with colour design details in red, blue and yellow, as well as a relief-like 3D design displaying the inner workings of the watch. Using Casio’s cutting edge radio controlled Wave Ceptor technology, the watch is updated up to six times a day from international radio transmitters, resulting in the most precise atomic timekeeping. If perfect timing was not enough, the watch keeps time for 29 cities worldwide. With only 100 available to buy, this special edition timepiece comes with a bespoke gift package including an autographed picture of Vettel and an exclusive helmet shaped badge. The EQW-M1000SV-1AER timepiece is available from the Casio store on Carnaby Street, London, H.Samuel online, and limited independent jewellers at an RRP of £350.

09.21: Red Bull throws caution in the wind
no more engine saving for Seb during FP...
Sebastian Vettel will revert to a normal free practice preparation for the remaining four grand prix of the 2009 season. The German had been limiting his mileage at recent races due to his diminishing supply of Renault engines but after a poor Italian Grand Prix, where the Red Bull driver's points deficit to leader Jenson Button dropped to a near-insurmountable 26 points, the team will instead throw caution to the wind because there's little to lose. "It is no longer going to help us if we drive defensively," the energy drink company's racing advisor Helmut Marko is quoted as saying by Auto Motor und Sport. Team owner Dietrich Mateschitz said after Monza that the championship dream is now over, but Vettel told F1's official website that he will push to win the last four races of the season. "I will fight to the last breath and minute," said the 22-year-old. Source: F1-Live

09.19: "Webber and Vettel won't give up"
says Kimi of the championship fight...
Kimi Raikkonen aims to be back on the podium next weekend when Formula One heads to Singapore for the running of the sport's only night race. Weighing in on the Championship fight, which sees Brawn GP's drivers, Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, pitted against the Red Bull's of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, Raikkonen believes Red Bull need a serious Brawn downfall if they hope to stand any chance of closing the deficit. "The Brawns seem to be there again, fighting for the title, while Red Bull's situation is more complicated. Webber and Vettel won't give up, but they have to hope that the two Brawns will have some problems if they want to catch up," said the 2007 World Champion. Source: Planet F1

[INTERVIEW] "I will fight to the last breath and minute"
seb tells formula1.com...
Q: Who do you think will win the title and why? SV: I hope myself. I will fight to the last breath and minute. Being a ‘couple’ of points behind, I know it’s not going to be easy, but we will see. I think any of the top four - or three - has a clear chance. For some, the chances are bigger, for some smaller. It would be quite a surprise to see Rubens (Barrichello) win the title. He is getting stronger but he’s quite old. It would be very special for him, but that goes for any one of us. None of us has ever been world champion. We will see.
