06.06: "Overall, this was a good day"
says sebastian on thursday notes...
Scuderia Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel finished Friday practice for the Canadian Grand Prix in ninth overall.

"Overall, this was a good day for us," said Vettel. "It's my first time driving on this track and even though it was wet in the morning, I have to say I like it and it reminded me a bit of the Melbourne circuit. We will have to analyse the other guys' times, but I think we are in better shape than we were at the end of the first day in Monaco, which means we are making progress and finding our way with the new car. We understand the STR3 better now and I feel more comfortable with it. So a positive day."

[INTERVIEW] 'Everybody was very happy'
at the canadian gp press conference...
Sebastian attended the thursday press conference and we brought the transcription! Check it here, as we added it to our interviews archive! Check a preview here:

Q: Sebastian, a great debut for the new car in Monaco, your thoughts on that?
Sebastian Vettel: Yeah, I think we were a bit lucky with the weather conditions. If you look at the results of Thursday’s free practice, we were not very happy about that, but I think it was very important to introduce the new car in Monaco already. To introduce a car on a street circuit is not ideal, for sure, but it was important to get to know the car and therefore we ran it on a circuit as soon as possible. On Sunday, the race was very chaotic, it was all about not making a mistake and staying on the track. I was very pleased with the result and the points.

[RUMOUR] Seb to RBR after Canada?
rumour also involves piquet and coulthard...
Nelson Piquet, David Coulthard and Sebastian Vettel could be at the centre of an elaborate and imminent musical-chairs scenario. The Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell on Monday published speculation that the trio might be subject to the reshuffle following Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix.

Stage one of the rearrangement, according to the rumour, would be the replacement of rookie Piquet - who has struggled in the high profile Renault seat so far this season - by F1 veteran Coulthard, who currently drives for Renault-powered Red Bull. 22-year-old Piquet, meanwhile, would be slotted into Vettel's Toro Rosso seat, with the burgeoning German to fill Coulthard's vacant spot at parent outfit RBR.

The publication explained that Piquet's move to Toro Rosso would enable the Brazilian to develop as a Grand Prix driver in a lower-pressure environment.

The rumour assumes that Vettel and Piquet will then stay in their respective new seats in 2009, while Coulthard steps into retirement.
